  • What is an IEP?

    An IEP is an Individualized Education Plan. Students identified as having a disability that impacts their performance at school. A multidisciplinary team will determine if your child is eligible then develop a plan to address specific needs at school.

  • Does my student need a BIP?

    Determining the need for a Behavior Intervention Plan, BIP, varies from student to student. A student may qualify for a BIP after a Functional Behavior Assessment has been completed.

  • Why do I need a behavior consultant?

    Going through the educational and behavioral services can be difficult to navigate on your own. Hiring a consultant with an educational background will help give you the edge and understanding of the process so that you can feel empowered and equipped to advocate for your child’s needs.

  • What does a behavior/educational consultant do?

    At Behind Behaviors Consulting we offer comprehensive supports to addressing your needs related to your child’s educational and behavioral success. We cater to the needs of families with a variety of services, ranging from observations at school, reviewing paperwork and advocating at the IEP meetings. We know everyone’s journey through special education is unique and we are here to provide the guidance you need to help your student be successful and get the services they need.

  • Am I allowed to have outside consultants at the IEP meeting?

    YES! You are allowed to bring whoever you want to the meeting, just be sure to remind your school so they can add us to the invite and minutes.

  • I don't live in Maryland can I still use your services?

    YES! We offer virtual consultative services. Most of our services can be done via the virtual setting including reviewing documents, collaborating on the IEP process, coaching through IEP/BIP processes and providing written feedback.
